Vipers start title defence with a narrow win against Gaddafi

Wakiso Giants 0-3 Maroons FC.

Arua hills 0-1 Busoga United.

Vipers SC started their journey of defending the Uganda Premier League with a narrow win of 2-1 against Gaddafi FC at Gaddafi Arena.

Fantastic captain Milton Karisa lived as an example when he opened the score for Vipers in the 27th minute.

Vipers continued to dominate and this paid off later in the 42nd minute when Mauritanian Foward Mohamed Salem Ekbad rebounded in after a strong shoot of Bright Anukani was saved by goalkeeper Dennis Ochieng.

Second half saw Gaddafi coming back recharged putting up a threat to the visitors.

This paid off in the 55th minute when Vipers left back Isa Mubiru fouled to concede his side a penalty which Benson Muhindo converted.

Benson Muhindo could score another goal for his side but his attempt went wide.

In other games played, Maroons dismantled Wakiso Giants at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium (0-3) while Busoga United won Arua hills 1-0 at Paridi Stadium.

UPDF FC played out a goalless draw with URA at Bombo Military Grounds.
