Uganda women’s handball team targets podium at African Games in Accra.

Let’s start with the team composition of the Uganda national women’s handball team.

This talented 13-man team is led by the skilled captain, Amina Ajema.

Alongside her, the team comprises players with immense potential and dedication.

Hilda M. Abangit, Doreen Ondoa, Lilian Achola, Patience Damulira, Shakirah Bako, Diana Tiperu, Barbra Nantume, Patricia Arago, Priscilla Aber, Jesca Nakamanya, Diana Nakamya, and Brenda Adokorach complete the squad, each bringing their unique skills and strengths to the table.

With such a cohesive and talented group, the team is eager to face their opponents in the upcoming 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana.

Head coach Aziz Yakoub, supported by assistant coach Jimmie Remmie Orotin, is confident in the team’s abilities and their readiness for the championship.

Arriving in Accra on Monday, the team wasted no time, heading straight to the official games venue to prepare for the highly competitive handball games, scheduled to kick off on the 14th of March 2024 at the Bortyman sports complex.

As they open their campaign against Cameroon in group B on Thursday, the team is focused on giving their best performance.

They will then face the Democratic Republic of Congo on the 16th of March 2024 with a day’s rest in between.

The final game of the tournament for Uganda will be against Mali on the 18th of March 2024.

In the other group, group A, we have the hosts Ghana, along with Burkina Faso, Algeria, and Angola, making for an exciting and competitive tournament.

With rigorous preparation, a talented squad, and a determined coaching staff, the Uganda national women’s handball team aspires to reach the podium at the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana.

The players are mentally and physically ready for the task at hand, and they are eager to test themselves against the best teams in Africa.
