Game Changer: Greenlight Islamic Upsets London College’s Reign in Nasana Zone at USSSA Zonal Games

Greenlight Islamic School emerged victorious in a thrilling final of the USSSA Nasana Zone at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso, securing a remarkable 3-1 win against their fierce rivals, London College.

This triumph was not only a celebration of Greenlight’s success but also marked the end of London College’s dominance in Nasana Zone.

Greenlight wasted no time in taking the lead, as Sudais Kayiira expertly guided the ball into the net within the opening minute of the game.

The early goal set the stage for a fast-paced and intense encounter.

The momentum continued in Greenlight’s favor as Henry Junior Egesa added to their lead, capitalizing on a powerful header from Maurice Okello’s well-placed corner kick.

The accuracy and precision displayed by the Greenlight players were truly commendable.

Not content with being the provider, Okello decided to get in on the scoring action himself, extending Greenlight’s lead to an impressive three goals in the 54th minute of the match.

His individual brilliance helped solidify their dominance on the field.

Although London College managed to pull one back through Bin Mousa Akram in the dying moments of the game, it proved to be a mere consolation.

Greenlight’s resilient defense and attacking prowess had already sealed their victory.

With this win, Greenlight Islamic School put an end to London College’s five-year reign at the top of the Nasana Zone, and their achievement will be remembered as a significant milestone in the history of the tournament.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ final, Alliance High School demonstrated their supremacy with a resounding 7-0 victory over St George SS.

Flavia Mirembe, Doreen Kobusigye, Patricia Agwete, and Mary Katusiime all showcased their scoring prowess, contributing to their team’s remarkable triumph.
