Ed Sheeran has apologised for interrupting Manchester United supervisor Ruben Amorim’s stay TV interview after Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw at Ipswich City.
Amorim, taking cost of United for the primary time, was being interviewed by Sky Sports activities presenter Kelly Cates, ex-United captain Roy Keane, former Manchester Metropolis midfielder Izzy Christiansen and ex-Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp at Portman Street.
Singer-songwriter Sheeran, who’s a minority proprietor at Ipswich, interrupted the pitchside interview to greet Redknapp.
Referring to Amorim, Sheeran mentioned: “I do not suppose he needs to talk to me.” He added: “I like being again within the Premier League.”
He then left and the interview resumed.
In a publish in Instagram on Monday, Sheeran wrote: “Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday. Did not really realise he was being interviewed on the time. Was popping to say hello and bye to Jamie. Nice sport, congrats on all concerned.”
Sheeran grew to become Ipswich’s major shirt sponsor in 2021.
After Ipswich earned back-to-back promotions to safe a return to the Premier League this season, he purchased a minority stake within the membership this summer time.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for United within the second minute however Omari Hutchinson’s Forty third-minute equaliser earned Ipswich a degree.
