In my humble opinion, the perfect “Superman” film is not even a film — its the third trailer for “Man of Metal.” This trailer is so effectively put collectively, so goosebump-inducing, that I used to be satisfied Snyder had by some means made a masterpiece when I first noticed it on-line. Then I noticed the film, which was, to be blunt, an entire dud. Regardless of — we’ll all the time have this jaw-dropping trailer, which is simply as efficient now because it was when it dropped years in the past. The emotional beats hit (Kevin Costner’s voice breaking as he says “You are my son” nonetheless will get me choked up, what can I say?), the motion seems to be beautiful, and the music (courtesy of Hans Zimmer) sounds unimaginable when matched with the imagery. This is not only a good Superman trailer, it is top-of-the-line trailers of all time. Does that sound like hyperbole? Screw it, I feel it is true.
The trailer paints a portrait of a Superman story about Superman discovering his place on the planet, all whereas intrepid reporter Lois Lane (Amy Adams) tracks his actions and offers some voice-over narration. It makes the movie really feel really epic in scope and scale, happening emotional paths we’d not anticipate. Every part right here clicks: the sense of Superman’s loneliness in our world, the father-and-son dynamics with each Pa Kent and Superman’s start father Jor-El (Russell Crowe), Michael Shannon’s unhinged Basic Zod (who appears type of boring within the completed movie), the pictures of Superman retreating. It is a mini-masterpiece and hints at a unbelievable film that we by no means truly obtained to see.
