MotoGP world champion Jorge Martin says he might be out till the fifth spherical of the championship whereas he continues his restoration from surgical procedure.
The 27-year-old Spaniard missed the opening race in Thailand after struggling fractures to his hand and foot in a crash throughout pre-season testing.
The following grand prix takes place in Argentina this weekend, adopted by the Americas Grand Prix in Austin on the finish of March whereas the fourth spherical is in Qatar from 11-13 April.
“I am actually struggling, it is not my second. I am struggling to get well as quick as I would really like,” Martin stated.
“I can even say that I will not be in Austin. I want to be there however I will not be racing. I do not know if I can be [racing] in Qatar.
“That is nonetheless actually early, for certain I want to make some type of take a look at earlier than coming again to racing as a result of I am not feeling actually good. I do know Massimo [Rivola, Aprilia team principal] is also engaged on that, so let’s have a look at if we are able to make it attainable.”
Martin, who claimed his maiden MotoGP world title 12 months, beforehand underwent surgical procedure after breaking his proper hand in a crash on the primary day of pre-season testing.
After the primary spherical in Thailand, six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez tops the standings.
Martin might return for his residence Grand Prix in Spain which begins on 25 April.
