Organisers say the lads’s and girls’s Olympic triathlons solely have a 60% likelihood of going forward on Wednesday after the lads’s occasion was postponed on Tuesday.
Checks of the River Seine within the early hours of Tuesday morning revealed the water was not clear sufficient for the race to happen.
It’s now set to be held on Wednesday at 09:45 BST (10:45 native time), after the ladies’s occasion, which is scheduled to begin at 08:00 (07:00 native time).
President of World Triathlon Marisol Casado had mentioned there was an 80% likelihood that the lads’s triathlon would happen on Tuesday.
However after the race was postponed she defined “sadly it was the 20%” that had received out.
When requested what the probabilities are of Wednesday’s triathlons occurring, Casado informed BBC Sport “60-40” in favour of them happening.
