Centenary Financial institution, Uganda’s largest business microfinance financial institution, has contributed UGX 5 million to Mbale Heroes Soccer Membership, in an effort geared toward boosting the membership’s efficiency within the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League soccer season, following its return to the massive boys’ league.
Martin Seguya, the Chief Supervisor Private Banking Centenary handed over financial institution’s contribution to the Membership throughout a company fundraising dinner at Lodge Africana.
This initiative is a part of an ongoing effort to lift as much as UGX 1.5 billion for Mbale Heroes in assist of their participation throughout the 2024-25 Uganda Premier League soccer season.
Mbale Heroes, previously often called Gangama United, is a celebrated soccer workforce from Bugisu, well-known for breaking the dominance of groups from central Uganda by successful the Uganda Cup in 1976 and 1999. This has enabled us to witness the transformation of soccer in Uganda and the lives of younger, proficient Ugandan footballers.”
“Yearly, we allocate 2% of our annual earnings, in direction of our sustainability efforts. This dedication is a key ingredient of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) technique which, encompasses initiatives in schooling, well being, environmental stewardship, the social mission of the church, and group improvement,” she added
Through the fundraising drive, over UGX 180 million was collected in money and pledges from varied sector gamers and well-wishers to fund membership actions for the upcoming season.
Mbale Heroes Membership Patron Hon. Nandala Mafabi, the Member of Parliament for Budadiri East, Sironko, emphasised the necessity for steady effort and avenues to make sure Mbale Heroes doesn’t disappear and stays related within the Uganda soccer scene.
“An 18-year absence from the highest flight will not be one thing we ever envisioned as followers of Mbale Heroes. Centenary Financial institution continues to assist the expansion of native sports activities in Uganda via partnerships such because the Masaza Cup, to which it has contributed UGX 600 million over the previous three years.
