Ecobank Uganda has bid farewell to its Board Chairman, Mr. Elias Kasozi Byekwaso, celebrating his excellent management and enduring legacy. The farewell actions culminated in a high-profile dinner on the Pearl Restaurant, Serena Resort, Kampala, attended by board members, employees, and stakeholders.
A distinguished economist and monetary strategist, Mr. Kasozi steps down after eight transformative years on the board, together with his tenure as Chairman since 2022. Throughout his time on the helm, Mr. Kasozi spearheaded the financial institution’s strategic reorientation, driving outstanding progress, enhanced profitability, and an expanded buyer base. His management has firmly positioned Ecobank Uganda as one of many main monetary establishments within the nation.
With a profession spanning 38 years, together with pivotal roles on the IMF and Financial institution of Uganda, Mr. Kasozi introduced unparalleled experience and imaginative and prescient to Ecobank. Recruited as an Impartial Non-Government Director in 2016, he was reappointed in 2020 earlier than assuming the Chairmanship in 2022.

In his farewell remarks, Mr. Kasozi expressed gratitude for his time at Ecobank, saying, “Serving Ecobank Uganda has been a profound honor. Working alongside such passionate and devoted professionals dedicated to Uganda’s and Africa’s progress has been actually inspiring. I’m assured the financial institution will proceed to scale better heights.”
The farewell dinner featured heartfelt tributes and reflections on Mr. Kasozi’s outstanding contributions. Attendees praised his visionary management, unwavering dedication, and transformative impression on Ecobank Uganda.
