Wigan stated: “At 10.37pm on Tuesday 30 September, our membership was knowledgeable in writing by Derek Beaumont of Leigh Leopards that they don’t intend to fulfil Friday’s scheduled semi-final fixture.
“We will verify that Leigh Leopards had been supplied the selection of 4,600 unreserved seats or 5,400 reserved seats within the North Stand.”
Wigan stated the allocation had been decided by the unbiased Security Advisory Group and the membership’s Floor Security Officer, following session with the police.
They stated Tremendous League had “sought separate security recommendation” and had “absolutely endorsed this strategy”.
Wigan added that the allocation supplied was virtually double the ten% minimal required for away supporters.
“Whereas we remorse that Leigh Leopards discovered this association unacceptable, our membership is legally, and professionally, sure to adjust to the instructions of our Floor Security Officer and the situations of our Floor Security Certificates,” Wigan’s assertion added.
“The protection and welfare of all supporters should come first. This isn’t open to negotiation and underpins each choice we make.
“We proceed to organize for Friday’s semi-final and can launch additional info because the state of affairs develops.”
The Rugby Soccer League has declined to remark.
Wigan completed one place and three factors above Leigh within the common season and the winner of Friday’s scheduled match will face both Hull KR or St Helens within the Grand Ultimate at Outdated Trafford on Saturday, 11 October.
