Flamengo boss Filipe Luis says a workforce from South America can win the Fifa Membership World Cup after a formidable begin to the match by golf equipment from Brazil and Argentina.
After Botafogo defeated Champions League winners Paris St-Germain 1-0, fellow Brazilian facet Flamengo got here from behind to beat Uefa Convention League winners Chelsea 3-1.
There are six groups from South America collaborating within the new 32-team format – Palmeiras, Botafogo, Flamengo and Fluminense from Brazil, whereas Boca Juniors and River Plate are representing Argentina.
All six are unbeaten after 9 matches – with Palmeiras, Botafogo, Flamengo and River Plate topping their respective teams.
No workforce from Brazil has received the Membership World Cup since Corinthians beat Chelsea within the remaining of the 2012 version.
Since then all of the winners have come from Europe.
In the meantime, no workforce from Argentina has received the match because it was based in 2000.
“To begin with I am stunned South American groups are unbeaten, as a result of I do know the standard of European soccer,” stated Flamengo boss Luis after masterminding a win over his former membership Chelsea.
“Anyone can win. That is soccer. It would not shock me [if a South American team won it].”
