The Federation of Uganda Football Association have offered punishments to referee George Nkurunziza and Gaddafi duo of Yaya Mahad Kakooza and Andrew Waiswa because of match fixing.
Referee George Nkurunziza has been banned a period of 10 years from all football related activities, this has forced him to hang up his whistles and cards as he deems FUFA unfair.
FUFA explained the details as below.
” The FUFA Ethics and Discplinary Committee has found referee Nkurunziza George guilty of violation of Articles 41 (Manipulation of football matches or competitions or match statistics), Article 24 (3) (General Duties) and Article 42 (Failure to report) to the FUFA Ethics and Discplinary Code”.
” The Committee analyzed and evaluated evidence on file and the defence put Foward by Mr Nkurunziza and found that he was involved in influencing the results of matches for betting purposes in violation of the FUFA Ethics and Discplinary Code”.
For Gaddafi FC’s player Yaya Mahad Kakooza and Andrew Waiswa have been banned 5 years.
Other Football personels waiting for FUFA officiation because of match fixing include Lwasibawa, Saleh Maganda – Calvary, Franco Oringa – Northern Gateway, Mwimah Abdallah – Ndejje University and referee Deogratius Opiyo.
